The final destination of our Nepal trip was Chitwan National Park, the first established national park of the country, located in a subtropical area.
A foggy sunrise welcomed us on the first day spent in the park thanks to the nearby Budhi Rapti River. Locals were going about their business in the nearby villages and everything was coming back to life.
A short canoe trip on the river took us to an elephant breeding center downstream.

In the afternoon we went for a short guided walk in the forest, hoping to photograph some wild animals, but luck was not on our side: the only significant sight was half a rhinoceros in the tall grass...
The night fall brought a traditional dance show performed by locals
A bonfire concluded our stay in Chitwan... Tomorrow we're going back to Kathmandu for another day before our flight out of Nepal.
