Brașov, Gateway to the Carpathians

Surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains, Brașov was founded in the 11th century and is a history-rich Romanian city with plenty to offer to the photographer exploring the narrow alleys and old neighborhoods. It all starts at "Piața Sfatului", the central square of the old city, a wide plaza surrounded by colorful historic buildings.

Some of the best views of the old city can be had by taking a ride on the cable car gondola to the top of Mount Tâmpa, which offers panoramic views of the red rooftops covering the old town.

Just take your time to wander around the old city center and you'll find all sorts of coffee shops, restaurants and narrow passages waiting to be discovered.

Strada Sforii (Rope Street) is one of the narrowest streets in Europe.

The city also offers a lot of great views at night
